He added that, with a staff strength of over sixty (60), professional certification by IT staff is vital, not only because it is enshrined in the Strategic Plan of the University and that of the Directorate, but to ensure that staff responsible for KNUST’s cyberspace, have the necessary qualification recognised internationally and locally, by the Cyber Security Authority.
Mr. Stanley Asante – Berko used the opportunity to present on the various certification that staff can consider. The certifications include CISA, CRISC, CISM, CGEIT, CSX-P, CDPSE, ITCA and CET. Details of each certification was discussed between the two parties to identify what type of certifications can be considered for both top and middle level staff of the Directorate.
With KNUST being the largest University in Ghana, responsible for churning out the largest number of IT graduates, a partnership with bodies like ISACA will go a long way to make graduates ready for the job market with the requisite professional knowledge.
