Welcome Message from the Deputy Director.

On behalf of the Management and staff of the UITS, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) – Kumasi, I have the pleasure to welcome you to Information Security and Technology Assurance Division (ISTAD), UITS.

I want to end by thanking all those who continue to make the Division an exciting endeavour, including team members who make and shape the Division. Our sincere thanks and appreciation go to the Vice Chancellor who has been very supportive of our transformational efforts.

Who we are

Information Security and Technology Assurance Division (ISTAD) is responsible for developing and implementing IT Policies; coordinating the technology mission of UITS; conducting relevant research; and undertaking quality control and assurance of IT systems and infrastructure.

Our Strategic Mandate

The division is essentially responsible for:

• Developing and implementing Information Technology (IT) Policies

• Coordinating the technology mission of University Information and Technology Services (UITS)

• Undertaking quality control and assurance of IT systems and infrastructure. 

• Conducting relevant research

Mission 

Information Security and Technology Assurance division exists to conduct relevant research, develop IT Policies, implement IT Policies and undertake quality control and assurance of IT systems and infrastructure to aid the UITS in achieving its vision.

To ensure UITS offers high quality IT deliverables, in a secure technology environment, to the university community.
